Q: How can cosmetic dentistry help me?
A: If you’re feeling somewhat self-conscious about your teeth, or just want to improve your smile, cosmetic dental treatments may be the answer to a more beautiful, confident smile.
With today’s advancements in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, there are so many ways to enhance your smile. Our dentists are trained in a multitude of cosmetic techniques, including:
Teeth Whitening: Safe and effective one hour, in-office bleaching or take-home bleaching for a cost effective alternative. Whitening lightens teeth that have been stained or discolored.
Composite (tooth-colored) fillings: Also known as “bonding”, composite fillings are now tooth -colored instead of silver (amalgam) and are used to repair cavities and replace old defective fillings.
Porcelain Veneers: Veneers are thin custom made, tooth-colored shells that are bonded onto the teeth to create a beautiful individual smile. They can help restore or camouflage damaged, discolored, poorly shaped, or misaligned teeth. Unlike crowns, veneers require minimal tooth structure to be removed from the surface of the tooth.
Porcelain Crowns (caps): A crown is a tooth-colored, custom made covering that encases the surface to its original shape and size. Crowns protect and strengthen teeth that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations. They are ideal for teeth that have large, fractured, or broken fillings and also for those that are badly decayed.
Implants: Implants are metal posts or frames that are surgically placed beneath your gums. After placement, the implants fuse to the bone of your jaw and act as artificial tooth roots. Replacement teeth – singularly or grouped on a bridge or denture – are then mounted to the implant. Implants give a patient a strong, stable, and durable solution to removable dental dentures.
Orthodontics: New advances in straightening teeth and improving smiles are growing rapidly. Using the latest medical imaging technologies, custom made, clear, removable aligners are used in place of metal braces.

Q: What is TMJ Disease?
A: The term TMJ is an abbreviation for Temporal Mandibular Joint, or the jaw joint. Temporal Mandibular Disease is a condition characterized by facial pain, restricted ability to open or move the jaw, popping or clicking noises, and headaches. Our dentists, as well as other health professionals who provide treatment for TM disorders, care about your health and comfort. Discuss your concerns openly with them. In many cases the pain, headaches and other symptoms associated with TM disorders can be successfully and readily treated.
